Netflix is trying hard to get as close as its goal of having 100 Millions users from India. And in that process its trying everything to get there.
Netflix is starting with few users on mobile based Netflix subscription at the half price which is charges, it has launch and unofficial campaign in which user are enjoying Netflix at Rs 250/month only.
The current pricing of Netflix in India are Basic at Rs 500, Standard at Rs 650 and Premium at Rs 800.
Netflix is competing directly with other media publishing channels like Amazon Prime, Hotstar , Alt Balaji etc. and their are also local Youtube channels who produce similar content on the web like TVF which are free ofcource for now.
Netflix launch a similar campaign in Malaysia last year in November. They offered the subscription at half the price of the which they offered.
It would be interesting to see how successful the campaign will be and what results it will bring.
